Mutterschaft mit Zuckerguss?

Argues that although Nazi ideology is said to have equated women with motherhood, it denied motherhood to many women who were considered eugenically or racially inferior. Analyzes Nazi motion pictures for their portrayal of desirable and undesirable behavior of women. Pp. 53-83, "Antisemitischer Rassismus: 'Jud Süss' (1940)", discuss Veit Harlan's film. Notes that while the real Jud Süss was hanged for his financial transactions, in the film he arouses the wrath of the populace by his sexual exploitation of German women ("Rassenschande") to satisfy both his lust and his ambition (by acting as a pander for the duke, and thus making him dependent on his services). But a deeper purpose, as presented in Nazi propaganda, was to contaminate and ruin the purity of the German race. The women whom he exploits in the film are inferior; even Dorothea, the heroine, who drowns herself after Jud Süss rapes her, lacks the racial awareness required of a German woman.
