The Pictorial history of the Holocaust

A collection of 426 photographs of the Holocaust in all the countries of Europe, mostly from the Yad Vashem archives, many previously published, accompanied by a brief history. Includes sections on the persecution of Jews in Germany and reactions of the German Jewish community; attempts to emigrate; synagogues burned during the "Kristallnacht" pogrom; atrocities, humiliations, and forced labor in the first phases of the occupation of Poland and other European countries; the ghettos; massacres by the Einsatzgruppen; deportations to the death camps; the selections on the loading platform ("Rampe") at Auschwitz; the gas chambers and crematoria; the camps themselves, including pictures of medical experiments; Jewish resistance fighters, ghetto uprisings, and partisan groups; liberation of the camps and immigration to Israel.
