| תקציר ביוגרפי |
Moritz Oppenheim was a German Jewish painter, who was born in Hanau in 1799. He studied art in Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and Rome, returning to Frankfurt in 1925. He painted biblical scenes, portraits of important people such as the Rothschilds and Goethe, and he is famous for his paintings with Jewish motifs, often later reproduced to illustrate books on Jewish topics. Famous and admired in his day, he died in Frankfurt in 1882. |
