| תקציר ביוגרפי |
Dr. Haim Mordechai (Marek) Scherlag was born in Eastern Galicia in 1878. In 1906 he received his degree in law from Vienna University. Scherlag was an active Zionist in Vienna. He founded the Zionist journals: "Unsere Hoffnung" (1903) and "Neie Zeit" (1915) and published many articles on Zionism and other subjects in Austrian and Polish periodicals. Scherlag's main literary work comprises a translation of Adolph Stand's writings into Hebrew and three books of his own poetry in German. Scherlag immigrated to Palestine in September 1939. He died in Haifa in 1962. |
