Soon after October 7, 2023, the National Library of Israel made the decision to create a "Memorial Wall for the Murdered and Fallen" within its newly-opened building.
This memorial display, featuring the images and names of the murdered civilians and fallen IDF soldiers on and since October 7, 2023, is projected on a giant 20-meter long screen, as part of the Library’s Bearing Witness project to document October 7 and its aftermath, in Israel and abroad. The names of the fallen are updated regularly, allowing visitors to share both personal and collective grief.
The Library has received numerous requests from communities in Israel and around the world, asking whether a similar display might be available for use in memorial ceremonies marking one year since the October 7 massacre.
The Library has therefore created a set of high-quality downloadable files of the "Memorial Wall for the Murdered and Fallen," in Hebrew or English, for print and/or digital display. The files are available to download free-of-charge.
May the memory of over 1650 murdered and fallen over the past year be for a blessing, and may the hostages be returned to us, swiftly and whole.
