Why Women’s History Matters: A Journey through the Jewish Women’s Archive

As pioneering historian Gerda Lerner declared, women’s history is not merely additive but transformative. Jewish women’s stories, too, have the power to transform the mainstream narrative of the Jewish people and of women’s history. The Jewish Women’s Archive (JWA), a groundbreaking digital project now celebrating its 25th anniversary, documents and amplifies the voices and contributions of Jewish women. In this presentation, Dr. Judith Rosenbaum, CEO of the Jewish Women’s Archive, will conduct a journey through the archive, highlighting stories of Jewish women as innovators, community builders, and change makers, around the world and throughout history.
