Scope and content	תפלה שחוברה ונאמרה בעיר מנטובה, על מגיפה שפרצה בעיר ספליט (אישפלטו, ספלטו). "אחר תפלת י"ח יאמרו מזמור צ"א יושב בסתר עליון, ואחר יאמרו: רבונו של עולם לבנו יחיל בקרבנו... על שמועה כי באה... איך ידך הויה ביושבי עיר אישפלטרו". אחר התפילה: "ואחר כך יאמרו מזמור ל"ג, רננו צדיקים בה'. ואחר כך יאמרו: דרשנוך בכל לב נצח ישראל ומגיננו", פיוט מאת דניאל בן יחיאל. Prayer composed and recited in Mantua beseeching God to protect the residents of the city of Split (Croatia) from an epidemic of plague that had broken out there in mid-March 1784. The text of the prayer describes the catastrophe the plague had brought to the community: “Those who dwell in the city of Split are doubly oppressed, for in front of them goes plague and after them, the wasting of hunger.” The prayer then beseeches God to command the angel of destruction to “stay [its] hand.” The printed instructions indicate that the prayer should be recited following the Amidah [Standing Prayer], accompanied by the recitation of Psalms and the confession of sins. With decorative elements.
