The Italian portion includes the alphabet, basic syllables and words, multiplication tables, cardinal numbers, place values, Roman and Arabic numerals, and the names of the days of the week, months, and seasons. Illustrated similarly to Cat. 537 above, featuring a woodcut of a school scene, with an angel above showering treats upon attentive students and, at left, a teacher punishing an unruly pupil. With decorative elements.
