Description:
Sawt al-Kulliya (Voice of the College) was a monthly publication of Bir Zeit College, later University, with articles by faculty, graduates, and invited contributors. The journal featured articles in Arabic and English on a range of topics, from political-ideological issues, such as the connection between Zionist ideology and the Jewish religion, the moral foundations of Zionism, the moral foundations of nationalism, and other selected issues in education, history of the arts, literature, and more. The first issue stated the journal’s three main goals: publication of articles of interest to students and graduates of the college; articles on topics of importance to intellectuals; a platform for students and graduates to practice their writing. Among the contributors to Sawt al-Kulliya were the founder of the college Musa Nassar (Bir Zeit, 1895-1971), who later served as Minister of Finance in the Jordanian government, and Jordanian author 'Isa al-Na'uri (1918-1985). The monthly magazine ceased publication after a few issues, with no clear information about which was the final issue and when it appeared.
