Description:
Rawdat al-Ma'arif was a monthly school magazine that was published ten months a year. It was founded by the Rawdat Al-Ma’arif National School in Jerusalem in 1922. Its manager was Faiz Yunis Al-Husseini, assisted by Rasim Kamal and Sulayman Faiq. The editors called themselves the Scientific Committee of Students of Rawdat Al-Ma’arif National School. The first issue was published in January 1922, and it was printed at Al-Sabah press and then later at the Jerusalem Orphanage Press. The slogan of the magazine was: “Seeking knowledge is an obligation on every Muslim, man or woman.” Accordingly, in the December 1932 issue, the magazine published for the first time an article by a Muslim girl on the topic of ethics, which served as an encouragement for Arab girls. The magazine published world news and other matters that benefited both teachers and students. It also published articles in support of Arab nationalism.
