Description:
Al-Wahda was a non-partisan weekly, mainly covering news about local political and social issues as well as international news relevant to current events in the region. For example, issue 20 (October 20th, 1945, p. 3) covered the lecture of the intellectual Qadri Hafiz Tuqan (Nablus 1910-1971) on the nuclear bombings in Japan, in which he noted that the event had completely changed the balance power in the world. Evident as well is the newspaper’s extensive coverage of matters related to Arab laborers and farmers in Palestine, connected to Mandatory policies of the time. The newspaper also gave ample space to articles covering literature, art, and sports in Arab society in Palestine. The newspaper supported the Jordanian King 'Abdallah.
