Description:
Al-Harb (The War) was a weekly magazine published in Jerusalem and edited by Yusuf Francis. Only three issues were published, the first one appearing in August 1940. The magazine's purpose was to garner support for the Allies in World War II against Nazi Germany, since it was in the “interest of the Arab countries to fight the war.” The magazine also aimed at promoting Arab unity and eliminating old internal conflicts. Another focus of the magazine was support for the Hashemite family, namely Prince Faisal II and Prince 'Abdallah. Moreover, the magazine included sections on cinema, radio, and society. The last issue was published on September 8, 1940.
