تأليف ابي بكر محمد بن عبد الله الكسائي من رجال القرن السادس الهجري غالبا/ الثاني عشر. نسخة مشرقية تمت كتابتها تحريرا في 15 شوال 1076 هجري/ 1666 اول النسخة: "قال \المؤلف رحمه الله\ الحمد لله الذي انبت الخلق نباتا ... هذا كتاب المبتدأ من خلق السموات والارضين وخلق الجن والانس واوائل احوال النبيين الخ"؛ تتبع الاحاديث الاوائل: حديث خلق اللوح والقلم، حديث خلق الماء، حديث خلق العرش، حديث خلق الريح، صفة حملت العرش, صفة الحية المحدقة بالعرش، حديث ابتداء خلق الارض والجبال والبحار، حديث خلق السموات وسكانها، حديث (خلق) الشمس والقمر؛ وتتبع الاحاديث الاواخر: حديث بدوّ يونس بن متي، حديث زكريا ابن اون وعمران بن ماثان ويحيى بن زكريا ومريم وعيسي والحواريين، حديث ميلاد مريم، حديث وضع مريم بعيسى، حديث عيسي والصباغ، حديث القسارين وهم الحواريون، حديث بولس حديث متي الحواري، حديث رفع عيسي الى السما، حديث الايات التي تظهر قبل نزول عيسى، حديث خروج المهدي، حديث خروج الدجال، حديث جرجيس؛ وآخر الكتاب:"ولم يصح ان الموصل قلبت وانما يحتمل ان الله .. اهلكهم بكفرهم والله .. اعلم بالصواب تم كتاب المبتدأ في قصة الانبياء ..". في الهوامش تصحيحات وتوضيحات لغوية منقولة من القواميس.
