הדרשות והביאורים מלוקטים מן המדרשים ומכתבי חכמי ימי הביניים, בידי מלקט אלמוני. המלקט מביא רבים מפירושיהם של רש"י והרמב"ן, ומזכיר את הרמב"ם, ר' יום טוב [הריטב"א?] (55ב) ואת ראב"ע. הקובץ מכיל גם דרשות למועדים: לראש השנה, ליום הכיפורים, לסוכות, לשבועות ולפסח (146ב-170א).- כה"י התגלגל כנראה עם הגולים לאיטליה, ואחד מבעליו שם - במאה הט"ז - הוסיף הערה בכתיבה איטלקית בתחתית דף 31א: "שמעתי מפי ר' דניאל מאוליוויטי זצ"ל..".- גם ידיים אשכנזיות החזיקו בספר - כנראה ג"כ באיטליה - והוסיפו משלהן בסופו, באותו זמן לערך: 1] "מלחמות מים ויין" (171ב) - שיר בן עשרה בתים חרוזים המתאר את הוויכוח בין היין למים.- 2] מעשה במלך ויועצו היהודי (172א).- 3] מגילת אנטיוכוס (172ב, 174א-ב) - הועתקה בשנת שכ"א (1561). נושא נוסף: מקרא פרשנות תורה נושא נוסף: מקרא פרשנות נביאים הפטרות נושא נוסף: שירה נושא נוסף: ספרות יפה. ספורי עם נושא נוסף: מדרש. אגדה כתיבות שונות.
