  • הבין שירי הזמר העברי יש שהפכו להיות "שירי עם" ומושרים בפי כל, שירים העוברים מפה לאוזן ומושרים בהזדמנויות שונות. כך מופיע שיר-זמר "יתום", ללא ציון מחבר, ורבו המקרים שבהם המחבר נותר אלמוני, ומופיע כ"עממי". כזה הוא השיר "ארץ זבת חלב ודבש". הפסוק הלקוח מספר דברים (ומוזכר בשינוי בפרשת "שלח" אותה נקרא השבוע). השיר זכה לשני לחנים שנכתבו בידי שני יוצרים שזהותם ידועה. הראשון, הנפוץ מבין השניים, של המלחין אליהו גמליאל (2013-1926) כתב בשנת 1952 כתרגיל בהלחנה לשני קולות שגמליאל הגיש כתלמיד המדרשה למורים למוזיקה בתל אביב. את הלחן השני כתב המלחין עמנואל עמירן-פוגצ'וב (1993-1909), שהלחין שירי זמר רבים. שני לחני השיר "ארץ זבת חלב ודבש" שעולה מהם ניחוח מוזיקלי ארץ-ישראלי, נפוצו ברבים ואף שולבו בין שירי-הזמר המקובלים כריקודים בחוגים שונים לריקודי-עם. בארכיון הצליל מצויות הקלטות רבות של השיר.
