| יעקב אורלנד מספר כי אביו היה שר את המנגינה הזו וביקש ממנו לכתוב לה מילים. הלחן הוא ניגון חסידי המושר בחסידויות רבות כניגון לסעודה שלישית בשבת, וסעודת מלווה מלכה. מאוחר יותר הרב צבי נריה כתב מילים חדשות לאותו הלחן שנודע כ"הוי אחים נריע" והיה מושר בתנועת הנוער בני עקיבא. השיר ידוע גם למילים "אמר רבי עקיבא, ואהבת לרעך כמוך". |
