  • השיר איריסים מבוסס על לחנו של שיר פופולרי יווני בשם “Yirise"‏ (Ela Ela) שנכתב בשנת 1947 על ידי המלחין יאניס ולאס והמחבר ניקוס פאסטיאס והפך ללהיט. חיים חפר שנשלח בשנת 1949 יחד עם חברי הצ'יזבטרון למחנות העקורים בקפריסין, שמע את השיר ברדיו הקפריסאי. האגדה מספרת שאת השיר שמע ברדיו תוך כדי נסיעה בג'יפ וחיבר במשך הנסיעה מילים עבריות הדומות לצליל מילות השיר המקורי וכך "איריסיי" הפך ל"איריסים" ו"מתיה מו" =(עיניים שלי) הפך ל"מות אמות". השיר זכה לביצוע מוקלט רק בשנת 1959 בביצועה של אילנה רובינא. השיר זכה להצלחה בעיקר בביצועם של רובינא עם אריק איינשטיין בצמד שכונה "צמד הגפרורים". השיר זכה להקלטה מסחרית ראשונה רק ב1966 יחד עם עלייתה של המוסיקה היוונית הפופולרית בישראל.--מתוך דוקטורט של עודד ארז, עתיד לצאת בזמן הקרוב.
