	נִטְּשׁוּ צְלָלִים, דֹּם צִפֳּרִים! נוּמָה בְנִי, אֶפְרוֹחִי! אַל מִצִּלְלֵי אֹפֶל תָּגוּר אִתְּךָ כִּי אָנֹכִי! יֵאוֹר מִזְרָח, כַּנְפֵי רְנָנִים יְצַפְצְפוּ וִירַנְּנוּ, יֶחֱוַר שַׁחַר וּמִקֶּדֶם יַעַל גַּם שִׁמְשֵׁנוּ. עִבְרִי הִנְּךָ בְּנִי אַךְ זֶה הוּא אָשְׁרְךָ גַּם אֲסוֹנְךָ, חֹטֶר גֶּזַע עַם הַקְּדוּמִים עַל הָעַמִּים גְּאוֹנְךָ; עוֹדְךָ נָעַר תִּגְדַּל, תֵּדַע גְּדוֹלוֹת עַמְּךָ פָּעַל, אָז תָּבִינָה נְצוּרוֹת יִפְעַל עֵת שִׁמְשֵׁנוּ יָעַל! גֶּבֶר תִּהְיֶה יַד אַכְזָרִים תִּהְיָה בָךְ, אֶפְרוֹחִי, עַד לֹא תֵדַע נוּמָה, שְׁקֹטָה, אִתְּךָ כִּי אָנֹכִי! נוּמָה בְנִי הַיּוֹם כִּי פָּנָה, חֹשֶׁךְ יַעַטְרֵנוּ, אַל מִצִּלְלֵי-אֹפֶל תָּגוּר, יַעַל גַּם שִׁמְשֵׁנוּ! תִּגְדַּל, תִּשְׁמַע אֶנְקַת עַמְךָ מִפְּנֵי חֶרֶב יוֹנָה - זֹאת מִלָּתְךָ רֵאשִׁית תִּהְיֶה זֹאת הִיא בְנִי: צִיּוֹנָה! מִיּוֹם מִלָּה תֶהֱגֶה, תָּבִין סַפְךָ מֵלֵא רָעַל, בֶּאֱמוּנָתְךָ וּבְתִקְוָתְךָ כִּי שִׁמְשֵׁנוּ יָעַל! נוֹדֵד תִּהְיֶה בִּמְלֹא תֵּבֵל, אַךְ מוֹלַדְתְּךָ אַחַת זֹאת אַל תִּשְׁכַּח נִסְּךָ: צִיּוֹן! עַד רִדְתְּךָ שַׁחַת. אִם גַּם יֶאֱחַר יוֹם הַגְּאֻלָּה, יִצְעַד שַׁעַל, שַׁעַל. אַל תִּוָּאֵשׁ אֲסִיר תִּקְוָה - עוֹד שִׁמְשֵׁנוּ יָעַל! עַל הַיַּרְדֵּן וּבַשָּׁרוֹן שָׁם עַרְבִיִים חוֹנִים... לָנוּ זֹאת הָאָרֶץ תִּהְיֶה גַּם אַתָּה בַּבּוֹנִים. וְיוֹם יָקוּמוּ נוֹשְׂאֵי רַֹמח אַל תִּמְעֲלָה מָעַל - אֶל אֲזֶנְךָ בַּגִּבּוֹרִים כִּי שִׁמְשֵׁנוּ יָעַל!
