  • "בין גבולות" הוא שיר מאת המשורר הישראלי חיים חפר. נכתב בשנים 1944–1945, בעת שחפר היה חבר בחוליה בפלמ"ח שעסקה בהעפלה יבשתית מסוריה ומלבנון. השיר מדבר על גבולות סוריה, לבנון וארץ ישראל המנדטורית ממנו הוברחו דרך היבשה מעפילים ניצולי השואה ואחרים לארץ ישראל בארגון אנשי "ההגנה", המוסד לעלייה ב' והפלמ"ח. ההעפלה נתקלה בהתנגדות ממשלת המנדט, הן בחקיקה מגבילה והן בפעולות מנע והפרעה של כוחות הביטחון הבריטיים

    מעשי הבריטים עוררו את זעמו ומחאתו של היישוב, להם ניתן ביטוי בשיר.בתחילתו כלל השיר שני בתים בלבד. בכנס של הפלמ"ח שהיה בשנת 1945 דרש ארנן (סיני) עזריהו מחפר לחבר בית שלישי כדי שיהיה ניתן להקריאו בכנס, וזאת חפר עשה. במשך השנים שעד סיום המנדט הבריטי ביטא השיר את הרגשתם של רבים באשר לכלל ההעפלה, שרובה הייתה העפלה ימית, באניות מעפילים, וכך גם נתפס בתודעה הציבורית לאחר הקמת המדינה. -- מתוך ויקיפדיה. https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/בין_גבולות
