| השיר נכתב בשנת 1931 בגרמנית והולחן בשנת 1932. מחבר השיר, לודוויג רן, היה חבר במפלגה הקומוניסטית הגרמנית. סיני לייכטר תרגם את השיר לעברית בשנת 1934. בספר "שירים לערבי שבתות", תל אביב, תרצ"ח, התרגום מיוחס לאברהם שלונסקי. השיר העברי הושר על ידי חניכי תנועות נוער סוציאליסטיות בארץ. השיר תורגם גם לרוסית ואומץ על ידי תנועת הנוער הקומוניסטית הסובייטית. |
