	יִצְמַח שָׁלוֹם רַב מֵאַרְצִי נְוֵה שָׁלֵם עִיר חֶמְדָּתִי. חֹק וּמִשְׁפָּט יִבְנוּ פִרְצִי יוֹדוּ כָּל עַמִּים חֵן דָּתִי. אַל יִשָּׂא גּוֹי אֶל גּוֹי יָדוֹ לְטוֹב וּלְמַדָּע יִתְחָרוּ יֶהֱגוּ אֱמֶת וְיַגִּידוּ צִדְקַת עַמִּי חִישׁ יַכִּירוּ. נָבִיא מְרוּדִים לְנַחֲלָה אַרְצָה אָבוֹת בֵּין רֹב אַחִים וּנְפוֹצִים שֶׁבַּגּוֹלָה שִׂימֵם נָא יָהּ בַּמִּבְטָחִים.

	השיר נכתב בשנת 1918, לאחר פרסום הצהרת בלפור, ללחן ספרדי יהודי עממי. שמו הפרטי של המחבר מוצנע במילות השיר. אליהו הכהן מציין שנבון כתב את השיר בזמן שישב בעיר אדריאנופול שבתורכיה, לכבוד הנחת אבן הפינה של האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים.
