  • השיר נכתב עבור להקת הנח"ל במהלך מבצע סיני בשנת 1956 שבמהלכו נכבש חצי האי סיני. להקת הנח"ל ובתוכם חיים טופול הופיעו לרגלי הר סיני בפני חיילי ומפקדי הנח"ל שלחמו במלחמה ושרו את השיר הזה בפניהם מיד בתום הקרבות.
