"Flashkes is an absurd story based on memories, on a family discussion taking place while the father is dying, and on the open anticipation of his death. It takes place in a miniature model of [the author's] childhood home. The characters are carved from wood and marked wih the sharp scars of pain, love, longing and guilt. They are accompanied by the inanimate objects [...] all covered in bandages, out of a desire to blur and conceal the scars, while at the same time, making sure the wounds are present, as well as wrapped and healing"--Back cover.
