"יומן אחווה הוא אחד מבין היומנים הקבוצתיים שנכתבו בקרב קבוצת החלוצים בעלייה השלישית, היומן נכתב על ידי חברת קבוצת אחווה שנוסדה והתגבשה בקובנה שבליטא על רקע התקופה הסוערת ורבת התהפוכות של מלחמת העולם הראשונה, המהפכה הבולשביקית, הפוגרומים והכאוס השלטוני. הכתיבה ביומן החלה כמעט מיד לאחר עלייתם של חברי הקבוצה ארצה ... הקבוצה הגיעה לקצה מסלול הנדודים ... והחברים המעטים ששרדו את המסלול לאורכו עלו לגבעת ח'ניפס ביולי 1926, והיו מייסדי קיבוץ שריד" -- מן המעטפת האחורית.
