"'זיכרונותיה של מחנכת בגן הילדים' הוא ספר הפותח שער רחב להבנת המוסד החינוכי הנקרא גן ילדים בישראל, וכל מי שהחינוך בגיל הרך יקר ללבו ימצא בו עניין רב. הספר הוא מקור מהימן, פרי עטה של מחנכת ותיקה, המפגיש את הקוראים באופן ישיר למציאות של מכלול ההוויה החינוכית הנרקמת ומתרחשת בכל יום ויום בין כותלי גן הילדים. הספר מלווה באופן בלתי אמצעי את הנפשות הפועלות בגן מתוך התבוננות באינטראקציה בין הילדים ובין עצמם ובין הילדים למחנכת, לסייעת ולצוות המשלים. הוא מכוון את הזרקור לדינמיקה המתקיימת בין אנשי הצוות החינוכי לבין ההורים. תוך כדי מעקב אחר התנהלות הילדים בגן לאורך שנה, עולים הקשיים, הלבטים והדילמות העומדים לפתחן של המחנכות והמחנכים, ומובאות הצעות להתמודדות איתם. כמו כן, הספר מלווה בשיטתיות את התאקלמותם בגן של הילדים, ומתמקד באחדים הבאים ממשפחות שהרכבן חורג מזה של המשפחה המסורתית (הכוללת זוג הורים, גבר ואישה)--מן המעטפת האחורית.
