Memoirs of a Jew born in Łódź in 1935, relating his experiences in the Holocaust. He and his parents were interned in the ghetto from its establishment until its liquidation in 1944; they survived working in the metal factory. With the liquidation of the ghetto, they were selected, together with a group of 500 Jews, to continue working in other camps. They were taken to Auschwitz, then to Stutthof and to Dresden. Finally, after several death marches, they were abandoned by the Nazis at the gates of Theresienstadt, where they survived until the liberation in May 1945. After a stay in the refugee camp of Landsberg, they left for Paris; in 1946 they emigrated to Uruguay, and in 1972 to Israel.
