"שיר פופ מושלם הוא תרכובת של מילים, לחן וביצוע. רבים מהטקסטים של שירי הפופ והרוק היפים בתבל מאבדים מכוחם כשהם מוגשים על דף, ללא החלקים האחרים במשוואה. אולם הטקסטים שמצליחים בכל זאת להחזיק מעמד כשהם ערומים, הם תמיד חוויה נעימה לאוהבי מוזיקה ואוהבי ספר. כבר בתקליטו הראשון היה קל לזהות שעברי לידר מביא אל הטקסט המושר בעברית גישה חדשה. יכולתו של לידר לזכך דימויים מעט אירוניים מבלי להעליב ולעטוף אותם באהבה, שלעיתים מהצד נראית חלולה ופלסטית, היא זו שהופכת את שיריו ראויים להופיע בדפוס, ללא ליווי תווים או דיסק. לידר הוציא עד היום שלושה דיסקים. בשנת 1995 יצא "מלטף ומשקר", שנתיים אחריו "יותר טוב כלום מכמעט" ו"האנשים החדשים" הופיע בשנת 2001. בספר זה תמצאו את רוב השירים מתוך שלושת דיסקים אלה לצד שירים חדשים שיופיעו בתקליטו הבא, ושירים שמעולם לא הולחנו. אני חושב שביחד הם הופכים לאור גדול. גל אוחובסקי, 2003." -- מהכריכה האחורית.
