תיאור: הקובץ מייצג תשעים שנות סיפורת נשים בספרות העברית, כולל 22 סיפורים של סופרות מרכזיות לצד סופרות ידועות פחות. החל מדבורה בארון, אלישבע, עמליה כהנא-כרמון, יהודית הנדל, וכלה ברונית מטלון, אורלי קסטל-בלום, יהודית קציר, לאה איני וחנה בת-שחר; וכן: מיכל גוברין, ברכה סרי, נחמה פוחצ'בסקי, סנאית גיסיס, שולמית לפיד, עמלה עינת, חיה אסתר, רות אלמוג, סביון ליברכט ושולמית הראבן. הסיפורים נבחרו לפי יכולתם להאיר היבט מעניין בחוויה הנשית, שכן, בבסיס האנתולוגיה מונחת ההכרה בנבדלות החוויה הנשית מזו הגברית. כל סופרת תרמה למיבחר את תמונת המציאות הנשים כפי שנקלטה בפריזמה הייחודית שלה, והמיבחר כולו מבטא מגוון רחב של מימושים אפשריים של הזהות הנשית. לעיתים נוצר מעין עימות בין סיפורים סמוכים, המציגים עמדות מקוטבות ביחס לאותו עניין. לילי רתוק, שליקטה את הסיפורים, גם הוסיפה אחרית-דבר מקיפה.
