BookUNED Born in Resita, Romania, 1914. Drafted into labor troops in Transylvania. Hard labor near Don River in Ukraine until withdrawal after Russian victory in Stalingrad, 1943. Becoming prisoner of war in Galicia on his own initiative to escape hard labor. Living conditions terrible with 2000 more prisoners in camp. Transfer to Varen due to illness and working as a propagandist in prisoners' newspaper. Russians sending all Romanians (including Jews) home in November 1945. Having an official prisoners' certificate. Active communist. Disappointment from communism due to attitude towards Jews. Immigration to Israel.
