Michael Fürth (1826 Hanau - 1900 Hanau), banker and rabbi, son of Salomon David Fürth and Recha, née Lissmann, received rabbinical training from Chacham Bernays, (1792-1849), chief rabbi of Hamburg, and at the yeshiva of Seligmann Baer Bamberger (1807-1878) in Würzburg; Fürth, however, never worked as a rabbi, but at his father's banking business in Hanau. He was active in Jewish community life and also served on the board of the community (Vorstand der Gemeinde) from 1885. Recognized as a Talmid Chacham, he corresponded with many rabbinical authorities in Germany. In 1859 he married Jenny Warburg (1836 Hamburg - 1894 Hamburg), the daughter of Sara and Abraham Samuel (Aby) Warburg, who owned the M.M. Warburg in Hamburg --
