Dr. Joseph Landsberger (1843 Poznan - 1916), son of Louis (Leibusch) Landsberger from Kurnik, probably the physician Joseph Landsberger (M.D.) who also briefly served as Jewish Chairman at the Posen City Council from 1901-1902. Description
The Landsberger Collection consists primarily of notes and transcripts, excerpts from and indices to archival files that Landsberger recorded in archives, especially in Poznan and Wroclaw. It also contains drafts and essays on various topics, but particularly on Jews in Silesia, and Jewish physicians. Joseph's father, Louis (Leibusch), lived in Kurnik (Posen) and possibly worked there as a rabbi or preacher. The collection also includes some of his documents.
