Notes The Sandys Row Synagogue archive belongs to London's oldest still functioning Ashkenazi synagogue, which is situated in Spitalfields in the heart of the former Jewish East End. The collection has now been permanently deposited at the Bishopsgate Institute Archives (London) and can be accessed in the reading rooms or online via www.ourhiddenhistories.com. Sandys Row Synagogue are extremely grateful to the Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe for their support of this project as well as the Bishopsgate Institute Archives and the many members of the community and volunteers who have made this possible including: President of Sandys Row Harvey Rifkind, Archivist and Historian Rachel Lichtenstein, Trustee Rose Edmands, Paul Darby (archive volunteer), Leontine Veerman (Dutch translation), Amanda Fuller (transcriber), Jonathan Juniper (photographer) and Sarah Thorne (transcriber).
