Description
The series includes personal documents from Erich Kulka's estate, as well as documents related to his commemoration. The historian Erich Kulka (Erich Schön, 1911-1995), Otto Dov Kulka's father, was born in Vsetín, Moravia. He and his son survived WWII in the "Family Camp" in Auschwitz-Birkenau, and they both changed their last name to commemorate Elly Kulka, Erich's wife and Otto Dov's mother. After the war, Erich Kulka published books on the history of Jews under the Nazi regime, and the death camps in particular.
