Biographical summary שמואל סלאנט בן הרב צבי הירש ( ירושלים 1815-1909 וולקוניק ליד ביאליסטוק) רבה האשכנזי של ירושלים ומנהיג הישוב הישן. בשנת 1841 עלה לירושלים. מייסד ישיבת עץ חיים, בית החולים בקור חולים והוועד הכללי "כנסת ישראל" שאיחד את כל הכוללים של האשכנזים. נודע כבעל השפעה רבה על כל החוגים והעדות בירושלים.
Ownership history האוסף נרכש על ידי הספרייה הלאומית בחודש אוגוסט 1969.
Language Note האוסף עיקרו בעברית ויידיש, מכתבים ספורים באנגלית וגרמנית.
