בנימין הלוי (1996-1910), שופט בית המשפט העליון וחבר כנסת. הארכיון מכיל מסמכים ותעודות אישיות, אשר נוגעים בעיקר לחלקו של הלוי כשופט ב"משפט קסטנר", ב"משפט הטבח בכפר קאסם" וב"משפט אייכמן". באלה ניתן למצוא מכתבים שקיבל הלוי מאזרחים רבים במהלך המשפטים ולאחריהם, תיעוד של סיקור המשפטים בתקשורת ומעט יומנים ורישומים אישיים שניהל הלוי במהלך המשפטים. הארכיון מכיל גם מספר תיקים מתקופת פעילותו כחבר כנסת.

הארכיון מכיל מסמכים ותעודות אישיות אותם שמר הלוי בביתו, אשר נוגעים בעיקר לחלקו כשופט ב"משפט קסטנר", ב"משפט הטבח בכפר קאסם" וב"משפט אייכמן". באלה ניתן למצוא מכתבים שקיבל הלוי מאזרחים רבים במהלך המשפטים ולאחריהם, תיעוד של סיקור המשפטים בתקשורת, מעט יומנים ורישומים אישיים שניהל הלוי במהלך המשפטים, אשר נוגעים לסדרי הדין וקצת לתכנים, תעודות אישיות, פרוטוקלים והקדשות. הארכיון מכיל גם מספר תיקים מתקופת פעילותו כחבר כנסת, העוסקים בחוק יסוד זכויות האזרח, כינון ממשל עצמי ביהודה ושומרון, גבולות המדינה ועוד.

Biographical summary בנימין הלוי נולד בשם ארנסט לוי בעיר וייסנפלס שבגרמניה, למד משפטים באוניברסיטאות של פרייבורג, גטינגן וברלין, שם השלים את התואר השלישי שלו. בשנת 1933 עלה ארצה ושהה במשך שנתיים בהכשרה בקיבוץ דגניה ב'. הלוי התמחה כעורך דין במשרדם של מרדכי עליאש ויצחק אולשן בירושלים. בשנת 1938 התמנה לשופט בית משפט שלום, עם קום המדינה התמנה לשופט בית משפט מחוזי, ובהמשך גם לשופט בית משפט עליון. הלוי קנה את פרסומו בזכות שלושה משפטים מרכזיים במדינת ישראל בהם ישב כשופט: "משפט קסטנר" (1955-1954), בו ישב כאב בית דין בבית המשפט המחוזי בירושלים, "משפט הטבח כפר קאסם" (1958-1957), בו ישב כאב בית דין בבית המשפט הצבאי המחוזי, ו"משפט אייכמן" (1961), בו ישב כחבר בית הדין בבית המשפט המחוזי בירושלים. בשנת 1969 פרש מכס השיפוט ונבחר לחבר כנסת מטעם מפלגת גח"ל בכנסת השביעית. בהמשך כיהן כח"כ מטעם מפלגת הליכוד בכנסת השמינית, ומטעם מפלגת ד"ש בכנסת התשיעית. הלוי נפטר בשנת 1996.
Benjamin Halevi was born Ernst Levi in Weissenfels, Germany. He studied law at the Universities of Freiburg and Gottingen and completed his doctorate at the University of Berlin. In 1933 he made aliya and spent two years in the hachshara programme in Kibbutz Degania Bet. Halevi did his articles as a lawyer in Jerusalem in the legal practice of Mordechai Eliash and Yitzhak Olshan. In 1938 he was appointed judge in the magistrate court, after the founding of the State he was appointed district court judge and he later became a judge in the Supreme Court. Halevi became famous because he was a judge in three major Israeli trials: the “Kastner Trial” (1954-1955), when he sat as President of the Jerusalem district court, the “Kafr Kassem Massacre Trial” (1957-1958), when he sat as the head of the military district court and the “Eichmann Trial” (1961), where he was a member of the panel of judges in the Jerusalem district court. In 1969 he retired from the judiciary and was elected Member of Knesset for the Gahal party in the 7th Knesset. He went on to serve as a Member of Knesset for the Likud party in the 8th Knesset and for the Da”sh party in the 9th Knesset. Halevi passed away in 1996.
