Title CONGO TO OPEN EMBASSY IN JERUSALEM.
Scope and content Jean Blaise Kololo, the Foreign Minister of Congo has arrived in Israel to formalize the resumption of diplomatic relations with Israel. The Congo cut its ties with Israel following the 1973 Six Day War. Congo is one of the many African states that have resumed full diplomatic relations with Jerusalem. Kololo has gone one step further by announcing that the new Congo embassy would be located in Jerusalem. Most countries including the US and E.C. countries still refuse to locate their embassies in the capital due to Arab pressure. Photo shows: The picture shows the signing of the protocol of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Congo and Israel. Foreign Minister David Levy is signing on behalf of Israel and Jean Blaise Kololo is signing on behalf of Congo.
