Scope and content Barans leaves a wife, three sons and a daughter. His son Uzi is secretary general of the labour Party. Baran was born in 1911 in the Russian-Polish border town of Zdolbunov, the son of a rabbi and wood merchant. Photo shows: Family and mourners passing the body. At right his son Uzi Bar Am.
