Description
The file contains:;a) an autograph letter of four pages written on 26 Februry 1817 to John Murray concerning a sefety lamp for use in mines. The letter ha a red seal. In addition, there is a typed transcription of the letter on letter paper of Jeremy Norman & Co., San Francisco.;b) an autograph letter of three pages written in Lyon on 1 May 1820 to Faraday in London concerning Davy's journey in France and a substance recently found in the gas works. In addition, there is a photocopy of a typed transcription of the letter.;c) a facsimile of an autograph letter of one page to "My dear Sir" announcing a visit at the addressee's home.
