Moshe Aryeh Tzinovitz (1905-1987), also known by the pseudonym M. Yosipon. An author, a man of education and a researcher of the histories of East-European communities, as well as their religious and rabbinic world. The archive includes drafts of his researches and publications for the religious and ultra-orthodox press, some notes and primary sources on different cities and their community members, and documents of his and his wife, Rebeka Ruckenstein-Tzinovitz, from their private lives and their jobs at government ministries.

Biographical summary משה אריה צינוביץ (ידוובנה [פולין] 1905 - תל אביב 1987), נולד וגדל בסמוך ללומז'ה, ובבגרותו למד בישיבות המוסר של לומז'ה ומיר. בשנת 1925 התיישב בוילנה ולאחר מכן היגר לגרמניה, שם למד בבית המדרש לרבנים בברלין. בשנת 1933 עלה ארצה, תחילה עבד בחקלאות ובפרדס ברחובות ומאוחר יותר עסק בהוראה במושבה ובתל-אביב. היה פעיל עד 1943 באירגון הצעירים ללימודי היהדות. היה נשוי לבתיה שמשלביץ מ-1938 עד פטירתה ב-1965. הוא נישא לאשתו השנייה, רבקה רוקנשטיין, שנים מועטות אחר כך. ברוב ימיו עסק בכתיבה תיעודית וביוגרפית על ישיבות אירופה, על קהילות ואישים בעולם הרבני-ליטאי, אותו הכיר מקרוב, וכן על אדמו"רים בחברה החסידית. מסותיו ראו אור בעיתונים ובכתבי עת רבים, בראשם "דאס ווארט" בוילנה ומאוחר יותר "הצפה" בישראל, וכן בספרים שכתב או שהשתתף בעריכתם. חלק מכתביו פורסמו תחת שם המשפחה העברי אותו אימץ לעתים - יוסיפון. עם קום המדינה החל לעבוד במחלקה לישובי עולים במשרד הדתות, והמשיך לעבוד במשרד זה למשך מספר שנים.
