2 pp. 1/2, in folio; handwritten in French; engraved vignette and heading: Armée d'Egypte; Division du Kaire; signed: Dugua;Letter from the général de Division [Charles-Francois-Joseph] Dugua, Le Caire, 1er Ventôse, an 7 [19.2.1799], to the général de Division Désaix [Louis, Charles, Antoine], commandant dans la haute-Egypte;;Dugua, took commandment in Cairo after the departure of Bonaparte from Egypt to Syria, on 22 [Pluviôse - 10.2.1799], and gives a detailed overview of the situation: troops and repartition of forces; scarcity of supply - awaiting anxiously for help and provisions from the division in Haute-Egypte.
