Document relatif à la campagne d'Egypte;2 pages in-quarto manuscrites et signées Marmont. Dans sa lettre Marmont le banquier Perregaux, Malte, 25 Prairial, an 6 [13.6.1798], donne à son beau-père son récit de l'arrivée de l'armée à Malte, les combats où il prit part et s'empara du drapeau de l'Ordre.;Il écrit entre autre: La ville de Malte rèste à la France..l'acquisition de Malte est du plus haut prix pour nous..nous voilà en possession du commerce exclusif du Levant..les anglais n'ont plus un seul refuge dans ces mers ci..l'évènement est d'autant plus heureux qu'il ya 8 jours que l'Ordre de malte a signé un traité avec l'empereur de Russie.;Marmont (Auguste, Frédéric, Louis Viesse de)
