תצלום דיוקנו של הרב ד"ר מתתיהו שמחה רבנר, עוטה טלית ואוחז בספר: הדפס חלבון בגוני חום, מודבק על גבי כרטיס בתבנית Carte de visite, בגודל 6.5X10.5 ס"מ. בתחתית התצלום, נוספה חתימת ידו של רבנר, בדיו. בגב התצלום, נכתבו תאריו בגרמנית בכתב ידו של ד"ר יוסף חזנוביץ' וכן נוספו חותמות המעידות כי הוא תרם דיוקן זה לבית הספרים הלאומי, כנראה בראשית המאה. דיוקן זה הופק בעיר יאסי, רומניה, כנראה בשנות השישים של המאה העשרים.
