Benzion Halper (1884-1928), an Hebraist and Arabist and a professor in Dropsie College. His collection includes correspondence with the following personnel: Jakob Klatzkin, Louis Ginzberg, Yeruḥam Fishel Lachower, Alexander Marx, Abraham Kahana, David Simonsen, Samuel Poznański, Theodor Nöldeke, Adolf Büchler and L. Blau.

Biographical summary בן ציון הלפר נולד בליטא בשנת 1884. היגר לאנגליה, שם סיים תואר ראשון ב-1904 ותואר שני ב-1909 באוניברסיטת לונדון, במקביל לכתיבתו בכת העת "היהודי". הוא היגר לארצות הברית ב-1911, שם החל לחקור את הגניזה הקהירית בדרופסי קולג' (Dropsie College) וקיבל את הדקטורט שלו ב-1914 על מחקר זה. היה פרופסור ללשונות שמיות בדרופסי, ועורך בJewish Publication Society בשנים 1916-1924. פרסם מחקרים על הספרות העברית בימי הביניים ותירגם ממנה לאנגלית. נפטר בפילדלפיה בשנת 1924.
