Gershon Shaked (1929-2006), a lecturer for Hebrew Literature in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a literary critic, an essayist, a researcher and an author. The archive includes correspondences, drafts for his books, articles and lectures, as well as full articles of his and others' writings, drafts of different works of different authors.

Biographical summary גרשון שקד נולד בוינה 8.7.1929 תחת השם גֶרהַרד מַנדֶל. עלה לישראל שנה אחרי ליל הבדולח, ב-1939 והתגייס במלחמת העצמאות לתותחנים. ב-1950 החל למוד ספרות האוניברסיטה העברית ומ-1960 החל ללמד בה ספרות עברית. חקר את ש"י ענגון ומנדל מוכר ספרים וכתב את "תולדות הסיפורת העברית", מחקר בן חמישה כרכים על ההיסטוריה של הספרות העברית מ-1880. היה גם מבקר ספרות, מסאי, חוקר וסופר, בעל פרס ישראל. נפטר בירושלים ב-28.12.2006.
