Memoirs of a Holocaust survivor born in Bedzin, Poland (Będzin, 1923-Israel, 1996) who relates his experiences in the ghetto of Będzin and in Auschwitz. Shortly after his evacuation from Auschwitz in January 1945 he was liberated by the Soviets and returned to Poland. His parents and brothers did not survive the war. In 1947 he reached Palestine, where he was involved - as survivor and lawyer - in the commemoration of the Jewish communities of Będzin and the Zaglębie region; researched the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Hungary for his Ph.D., and represented survivors who claimed compensation for their sufferings during the Holocaust.
